If you're new here, and interested in using social media in the legal profession, you may want to subscribe to the RSS feed or follow us on Twitter @Rex7, @lbergus, and @JoshCamson. Thank you for visiting SocialMediaLawStudent.com.

Here are 5 simple ways to increase your blog traffic. This list is not exhaustive. They are just tips.

1) Always Be Linking – Sharing links to other blogs and useful information will help generate more traffic to your blog. Being a useful resource, and providing links to other bloggers, others will begin linking to your blog. You will soon become a resource to others by providing links. This increases traffic to your blog.

2) Contribute to Other Blogs – This can increase traffic to your blog in two ways: 1) by others being interested in what you have to say and 2) by providing a link to your blog. These links are a small way you can increase your blog traffic.

3) Social Media Tools – Social media tools, such as Facebook ,Twitter, and RSS feeds can generate large amounts of traffic to your blog. If one of your posts goes “viral” you will see a major boost in blog traffic. Feeding your blog through one of the many social media channels can have a big impact on your traffic. Never blog without these tools.

4) Provide Good Content – Providing interesting content will help your search engine optimization (i.e. “SEO”). Writing about things people are interested in will increase the traffic to your blog. Content is king. Add value to the blogosphere.

5) Email Subscriptions – Offering an email subscription to your blog can increase traffic. Feedburner offers an easy way for people to create email subscriptions to their blogs. The reality is that some people still enjoy receiving email updates to their favorite blogs.
