Thank you for visiting SocialMediaLawStudent.com.
We are calling law students* to contribute to this blog for the following reasons:
1 – No one knows everything about social media or legal technology. No single person is an “expert”.
2 – The law students of my generation, like those who came before them, are amazing and profound people who have a lot to contribute to the legal profession.
3 – Social media is new and changes daily. No one person can keep track of it all. You would be crazy to try!
4 – Social media is about being social. You can not be social without a community. Doing this blog alone would not make sense.
5 – We opened the blog up last year and our contributors ended up being quoted in the Wall Street Journal, ABA Journal, and other major news outlets so we think this process works well.
6 – We are all busy and cannot do this alone!
Benefits to You:
1 – A great way to keep your writing skills up during the semester.
2 – National exposure to your content leading to opportunities to be syndicated in major publications across the world! (Can your law journal do that?!)
3 – Be at the forefront of legal technology and help shape the legal profession through your writing.
4 – Draw traffic to your online profiles to increase exposure to employers!
Structure:
Josh Camson and Laura Bergus are the lead administrators of the blog. They are the boss.
Rex Gradeless is now a law school graduate. He originally founded the blog and will keep his hands off as much as possible while still contributing content and making sure the site does not fall apart.
If accepted, you will be considered a contributor to the blog which gives you a prime spot on our contributors page. Here, you can provide links to your online profiles that employers will be looking at. You will submit posts for approval and wait to see them show up on the blog!
Contact us here for more details or if you have questions.
To our current readers: Keep a lookout for new contributor posts coming soon!
* We will also accept recent law school graduates, those contemplating law school within the next year, or other legal professionals at our discretion. ALL inquiries are kept 100% confidential. If you were a “contributor” last year but got too busy to actually contribute – you can still sign up to contribute this time around!
