Oral Argument
-Huma rocked her first oral argument…allegedly
-Write all over your brief to make it feel like your own and stay comfortable at the podium
-Unless you’re Josh, then just take up two pages of notes with your arguments on them
-Tip of the week: KNOW THE RECORD!

Bluebook Online
-Blue tips features FAQs for Bluebook citations.
-Down side: the links to Bluebook rules are behind a registration wall.
-What about the physical Bluebook? Josh’s fell apart within a semester. Huma doesn’t use the Bluebook so she can’t relate very well.
-Do you know somebody who can spot an italicized period from a mile away? Josh does.

Legal Tweeter of the Month: @WorstLawStudent

-140 characters of hilarity

Religion Has A Place on Podcast Ipsa Loquitur

-Huma tells us all about slaughtering animals in the streets
-Passover falls during finals every year, and it sucks!

Final Exam Preparation
-Clean room, clean minds. Huma cleans before studying, Josh cleans instead of studying.
-Libraries are depressing and stressful, stay away from them.
-Get plenty of sleep
-Making your outline is studying
-Studying in different places can help you recall what you were studying

  2. My Advice for Oral Arguments: Imagine you’re talking to your Grandma, but instead of saying “Grandma” say, “Your Honor.” hahahaha. This way you stay relaxed, comfortable and you keep your sentences simple and concise.

This technique seems to work well enough for me – try it! Just make sure you say, “YOUR HONOR” not “Grandma”. :)
